Garden View is a comfortable, homey place for seniors to come to socialize with other seniors.  It is also a safe place for caregivers to send their loved ones who are not able to stay home alone.   At Garden View seniors are stimulated by interacting with other people and enjoying the many activities that we provide.   Garden View also provides respite for caregivers.  The time that their loved one spends with us allows them to attend appointments, visit friends, or just get some much deserved rest.   When the seniors return home, they seem much more calm and relaxed, which makes their caregivers life much easier.

A typical day at Garden View starts out with a continental breakfast of muffins and pastries.   While they enjoy their breakfast, we go over the current events of the day and just enjoy socializing.   We then move on to another activity, which could be arts, & crafts, balloon volleyball, chair aerobics, card games, indoor bowling, baking or just watching the Price is Right!  A delicious hot lunch is served to our seniors daily compliments of the Genesee County Office for Aging in Batavia.  We then usually move on to Bingo, which seems to be the favorite activity of the day.  They look forward to the many prizes that we provide so they can take treats home to their grandchildren or other family members.

Field trips are taken as much as possible.  We have gone miniature golfing, bowling, to Perry’s Ice Cream Factory, the Sam Patch Boat Cruise, Chinese Buffet, Pizza Hut, Watt’s Apple Farm, and many more.  We also offer a Bible study program once a month.  We are always looking for an excuse to have a party.  Whether it is a birthday party, a holiday party, or a silly hat party, it’s always a good time.

At the end of the day, we hope that our participants have wonderful memories of their day at Garden View to share with their families.
